The ATHENE ZIP from MOBAU is the innovative under-glass awning for patio roofs and conservatories. Its special feature is the ZIP zipper system , in which the fabric is firmly attached to the guide rails on the sides. This ensures stability even in windy conditions, a perfectly taut finish, and a clean, elegant look.

Design & Construction

The ATHENE ZIP combines state-of-the-art technology with high-quality workmanship. The fabric, zipped in at the sides, prevents flapping in the wind and significantly increases the overall stability of the system. This system ensures taut fabric tension and a clean appearance without any gaps for light to pass through.
A self-supporting roller box reliably protects the fabric from the weather and simplifies installation, as no additional fastening is necessary.

Mounting options

The ATHENE ZIP can be flexibly adapted to different roof constructions:
On the rafters – direct, stable fastening
Reveal mounting with mounting bracket - under-glass mounting also possible
With spacers – up to a maximum of 300 mm if additional ventilation or an optical offset is desired.

Comfort & Options

Equipped with a motor drive as standard, the ATHENE ZIP can be controlled via switch , remote control , or smart home system . Sun, wind, and rain sensors are available as options. For an atmospheric ambiance , integrated LED lighting can be added to the housing or crossbar.

Individual design

The system is available in the standard colors white (RAL 9016), silver (RAL 9006), and anthracite grey FS (RAL 7016). In addition, all RAL special colors and DB 701-704, as well as smooth, matte, or finely textured surfaces, are possible.

Reliable, highly durable counter-pull system

Due to its horizontal mounting position, a pergola awning requires a counter-tension system that redirects the rotations of the winding shaft forward, transporting the fabric forward without relying on gravity and maintaining even tension. This counter-tension is generated by a spring mechanism within the fabric shaft. The redirection of the counter-tension is achieved via a high-performance webbing made of aramid fibers with a breaking load exceeding 400 kg.
