MOBAU's ATHENE and ATHENE XL roof-mounted awnings are the ideal solution for effective sun and heat protection for conservatories and glass roofs. Mounted directly on the roof , they block sunlight before it reaches the glass surfaces and heats up the interior. This keeps your conservatory or patio pleasantly cool and usable, even on hot days.

Design & Construction

The ATHENE is designed for standard glass surfaces and impresses with its slim construction, quiet operation, and elegant appearance. For larger glass roofs, the ATHENE XL, with its reinforced construction and high-performance technology, offers an optimal solution – even with large spans, the fabric remains evenly taut and stable.
Both models are equipped with a self-supporting roller box that reliably protects the fabric from the elements and allows for easy installation.

Mounting options

The ATHENE ZIP can be flexibly adapted to different roof constructions:
On the rafters – direct, stable fastening
Reveal mounting with mounting brackets , under-glass mounting is also possible
With spacers – up to a maximum of 300 mm if additional ventilation or an optical offset is desired.

Comfort & Options

Operation is via a reliable electric motor as standard. Wireless controls and smart home integrations are available as options.

Individual design

The housing, guide rails, and side panels are powder-coated in the standard colors white (RAL 9016), silver (RAL 9006), and anthracite grey FS (RAL 7016). In addition, all RAL special colors, DB 701-704, and various surface textures (smooth, matte, finely textured) are available.

Reliable, highly durable counter-pull system

Due to its horizontal mounting position, a pergola awning requires a counter-tension system that redirects the rotations of the winding shaft forward, transporting the fabric forward without relying on gravity and maintaining even tension. This counter-tension is generated by a spring mechanism within the fabric shaft. The redirection of the counter-tension is achieved via a high-performance webbing made of aramid fibers with a breaking load exceeding 400 kg.

Optional equipment ATHENE / ATHENE XL

	With the ATHENE roof- mounted awning system, two sections can be coupled together, each with a maximum width of 400 cm, up to a total width of 800 cm. Only one drive motor is used.
	Row configuration: For larger widths, multiple fields can be configured as a row system. Each field is equipped with its own drive motor.
	Installation as an under-glass awning : With the MOBAU under-beam angle, the ATHENE and ATHENE XL can also be installed as under-glass awnings, fully utilizing the maximum construction dimensions.

The ATHENE can be operated via standard 230 V motor and switch operation or radio motor 230 V hand transmitter and Smart Home.
