Cassette awnings - smart solutions
for sun, style and comfort

Zeus-Huelsenmarkisen Wandmontage

Product overview: Cassette awnings

Cassette awnings offer an ideal compromise between an open awning system and a full cassette. When retracted, the awning fabric is covered from above and in front by a protective cassette, while the folding arms remain exposed. This design is particularly suitable for sheltered installation locations such as balconies, loggias, and patios.

MOBAU cassette awnings combine modern technology with durable quality – custom-made in Germany and optionally equipped with extras such as LED, shade plus or radio motor.

What are cassette awnings?

Unlike open folding-arm awnings, with cassette awnings the awning fabric is completely protected inside an aluminum cassette. This cassette completely covers the roller tube and reliably protects the fabric from rain, UV radiation, and dirt.

The special feature:
Unlike a fully enclosed cassette awning, the articulated arms and mechanism are located outside the sleeve and are visible when the awning is retracted.

Cassette awnings are ideal if:

  • the awning is mounted under roof overhangs, balconies or terraces

  • the focus is on a slim look and functional fabric protection

  • the budget is lower than that of a full cassette, but durability should not be sacrificed.

  • Free articulated arms are desired (e.g. for easy retrofitting with shadow plus)

Support tube awnings

The cassette awning belongs to the product family of tube awnings. In MOBAU Markisen's tube awnings, a 40 x 40 mm square steel tube with a 2 mm wall thickness forms the central structure of the entire system. All components, such as:

  • the mounting brackets

  • the articulated arm bearings

  • the fabric roller with sleeve or cassette

They are attached directly to the support tube or mounted so that they can slide along it. This ensures:

  • high static stability, flexible positioning of the brackets (e.g. to adapt to on-site conditions)

  • Simplified assembly even on difficult surfaces

This design makes tube awnings – and therefore also cassette awnings – particularly popular with craftsmen, architects and building owners who value reliability, durability and flexibility in installation.

The advantages of MOBAU cassette awnings

  • It reliably protects the fabric – thanks to a fully enclosed fabric shaft.

  • Semi-open design – articulated arms remain freely accessible

  • Compact dimensions & slim design – ideal for smaller balconies and sheltered locations

  • Custom-made to measure – perfectly adapted to your facade

  • Multiflex articulated arms with 4-fold cable guidance and high clamping force

  • Operation optionally via crank, electric motor or radio motor. Expandable with shade plus, LED lighting or wind/sun sensor.

  • Wide selection of colours (RAL & DB) and awning fabrics (e.g. SATTLER Elements, LUMERA)

  • 5-year warranty on technology, fabric and construction

  • Made in Germany – durable, safe and CE certified
