When is an under-glass awning useful as sun and heat protection?
Under-glass awnings are an elegant solution when a glass roof or conservatory needs to be protected from sunlight without altering the appearance from the outside.
However, for the heat protection to work optimally, adequate ventilation is crucial – because the awning fabric sits under the glazing and the warm air must be able to escape.
Its use is particularly useful in:
Terrace roofs that are open all around or can be opened generously using sliding elements, folding systems or open side walls.
Conservatories that have effective ventilation – e.g. through integrated ventilation flaps in the roof or a high-performance ventilation system.

ATHENE XS 120 R – slim and elegant
The ATHENE XS 120 R is a compact under-glass awning for small to medium-sized glass surfaces. Its semi-circular cassette blends discreetly into any architectural style. A ventilation gap at the front ensures air exchange between the awning fabric and the glass, preventing heat build-up. The self-supporting cassette requires no additional mounting, making installation particularly easy.
ATHENE XS 150 E – stable for large spans
The ATHENE XS 150 E is designed for large glass surfaces. Its angular housing adds a modern touch and offers maximum stability. A front ventilation gap prevents overheating, and the self-supporting roller housing allows for quick and easy installation.

Durable construction:
Both models feature a counterweight system with high-performance webbing made of aramid fibers, which is extremely tear-resistant and has low stretch. The drive spring mechanism in the fabric roller ensures consistently optimal fabric tension and smooth fabric guidance.

The housing and guide rails are powder-coated in the standard colors white (RAL 9016), grey/silver (RAL 9006), anthracite (RAL 7016) or DB 703. Additionally, all RAL and DB colors as well as smooth, matte or finely textured surfaces are possible.
