UV protection through awnings – enjoy safely in sun and shade

IMG_0659.JPG

Why UV protection is so important

  • UV rays penetrate even light cloud cover.

  • Skin aging and sunburn are caused by excessive UV exposure.

  • UV radiation can increase the risk of skin diseases.

  • Furniture, floors, and textiles fade faster in the sun.

Awnings as UV protection

MOBAU awnings not only provide shade but also offer reliable UV protection. With our special awning fabrics and the materials from "The World of Sattler" collection, radiation is filtered and significantly reduced. This creates a safe outdoor retreat while simultaneously protecting your interior spaces from sun damage.

Safely under your MOBAU awning

Sunlight is pleasant and important for our health – but invisible UV radiation poses risks. Whether it's skin damage, sunburn, or fading furniture: too much UV exposure can have consequences. With a high-quality MOBAU awning , you can enjoy the sun without worry. It provides shade , filters out harmful radiation, and ensures greater safety on your patio, balcony, and inside your home.

UV protection depends on skin type and the UV filter of the awning fabric.

A UV protection factor of 80 means that the awning fabric blocks 99.75% of harmful UV radiation – only 1/80 of the radiation gets through. This extends the skin's natural protection time by a factor of 80. For example, someone with skin type II (fair skin) has a natural protection time of approximately 10 minutes, but under a fabric with a UV 80 rating, they could theoretically stay in the sun for up to 800 minutes before getting sunburned.

It should be noted that the actual level of protection is also affected by lateral sunlight, reflections from water, glass, or light-colored facades, as well as the time of day. However, a UV 80 awning fabric offers one of the highest possible levels of UV protection for textiles and ensures maximum safety during extended periods outdoors.
